St. Arnou of Oudenaarde is considered a patron saint of beer/brewing.
During the battle in Flanders in the 11th century, Arnou prayed for cold beer to comfort the soldiers. Like many other monks, he was said to have the ability to multiply beer stores in to much larger amounts!
